Agreement

By using lidandlarder.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

Food safety — read this one

Lid & Larder is a consumer guide to canning equipment. It is not a food safety authority, a testing laboratory, or a substitute for either. Nothing on this site is advice for your specific situation, ingredients, equipment or altitude.

Home canning carries a real risk of serious illness when done incorrectly. Follow tested processes and processing times from the National Center for Home Food Preservation, the USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning, your state extension service, or the manual supplied with your canner. Where anything on this site differs from those sources, those sources are correct.

We summarize published guidance and cite it so you can check it. We do not originate it, and we cannot verify what happens in your kitchen. You are responsible for the food you preserve and serve.

Accuracy

We take accuracy seriously and describe how in our editorial policy. Specifications come from manufacturers’ published pages and are cited on each product. Even so, manufacturers revise products, guidance changes, and errors happen. The site is provided on an as-is basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

If you find an error, please tell us at info@lidandlarder.com. We fix corrections in place with a dated note.

Prices and product information

Prices are supplied by a live data feed and displayed with the date they were verified. They change constantly and are controlled by the retailer, not by us. The price shown on the retailer’s own page at the time of purchase is the one that applies. Availability, specifications and product listings are likewise the retailer’s and the manufacturer’s, not ours.

Affiliate relationships

Lid & Larder is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. We earn commissions on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Full detail is on our affiliate disclosure.

We are not the seller. Any purchase you make is a transaction between you and the retailer, governed by their terms. Questions about orders, shipping, returns, warranties or product defects go to the retailer or the manufacturer.

External links

We link to sources — the NCHFP, university extension services, manufacturers’ specification pages — and to retailers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

Intellectual property

The written content, comparisons and analysis on this site are the property of Slate Mill Group unless otherwise credited. You are welcome to quote from it with attribution and a link. Republishing pages wholesale is not permitted. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners, and their use here is descriptive.

Photography is licensed stock, credited in our records, and is illustrative — it does not depict any specific product we are recommending.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slate Mill Group is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or of any product purchased through a link on it, including loss arising from reliance on information published here.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of it.
